Terms of Service — Eastern Type

1. Acceptance of Terms

By accessing or using Eastern Type ("Service"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service ("Terms"). If you disagree with any part of the terms, you may not access the Service.

2. Description of Service

Eastern Type provides:

Free BaZi Calculator: A tool for calculating Chinese astrology charts based on birth information
Deep Personal Profile: A paid report providing personalized insights based on your BaZi chart

Our services are for entertainment and self-reflection purposes only. They are not substitutes for professional advice.

3. Account Registration

To access certain features, you must create an account using Google Sign-In. You are responsible for:

Maintaining the confidentiality of your account
All activities that occur under your account
Notifying us immediately of any unauthorized use

4. Purchases and Payments

4.1 Pricing

The Deep Personal Profile is available for a one-time purchase of $9.90 USD. There are no subscriptions or automatic renewals.

4.2 Payment Processing

Payments are processed securely through our payment processor. We do not store your payment card details.

4.3 Entitlements

Each successful purchase creates one entitlement for a Deep Personal Profile report. An entitlement is only consumed when a report is successfully generated. Failed generations do not consume entitlements.

4.4 Refunds

Our refund policy is as follows:

Refund requests must be made within 14 days of purchase
Refunds are not available for successfully generated reports
Failed report generation entitles you to a retry or refund

5. Intellectual Property

The Service and its original content, features, and functionality are owned by Eastern Type and are protected by international copyright, trademark, patent, trade secret, and other intellectual property laws.

6. User Content

You retain ownership of any content you submit to the Service. By submitting content, you grant us a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free license to use, reproduce, and distribute such content in connection with providing the Service.

7. Prohibited Uses

You agree not to use the Service:

For any unlawful purpose
To solicit others to perform unlawful acts
To violate any international, federal, provincial, or state regulations, rules, laws, or local ordinances
To infringe upon or violate our intellectual property rights or the intellectual property rights of others
To harass, abuse, insult, harm, defame, slander, disparage, intimidate, or discriminate
To submit false or misleading information
To upload or transmit viruses or any other type of malicious code

8. Disclaimer of Warranties

THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED ON AN "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE" BASIS. WE EXPRESSLY DISCLAIM ALL WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, WHETHER EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO THE IMPLIED WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT.

Eastern Type is a birth-based self-discovery language translated from traditional Chinese BaZi. It is not a scientific personality test, medical diagnosis, or fixed prediction. The Service should not be used as a substitute for professional advice.

9. Limitation of Liability

IN NO EVENT SHALL EASTERN TYPE, NOR ITS DIRECTORS, EMPLOYEES, PARTNERS, AGENTS, SUPPLIERS, OR AFFILIATES, BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, INCLUDING WITHOUT LIMITATION, LOSS OF PROFITS, DATA, USE, GOODWILL, OR OTHER INTANGIBLE LOSSES, RESULTING FROM YOUR ACCESS TO OR USE OF OR INABILITY TO ACCESS OR USE THE SERVICE.

10. Governing Law

These Terms shall be governed by and defined following the laws of Singapore. Eastern Type and yourself irrevocably consent that the courts of Singapore shall have jurisdiction to resolve any dispute which may arise in connection with these terms.

11. Changes to Terms

We reserve the right to modify or replace these Terms at any time. If a revision is material, we will try to provide at least 30 days' notice prior to any new terms taking effect.
