01How we communicate

Editorial Principles

How we write, speak and present BaZi information matters as much as how we calculate it. These principles guide every word on this site.

Plain English First

Every traditional term gets an explanation the first time it appears. We do not assume you know what a Day Master, Heavenly Stem or Earthly Branch is. Chinese characters appear as data labels, not as decorative elements.

Tendencies, Not Certainties

We use words like "may," "tends to," "can" and "pattern" instead of deterministic language. Your chart shows tendencies — not fixed predictions about your personality, relationships or future.

Evidence is Visible

Every major insight connects to supporting signals, counter-signals and a confidence level. You should never have to trust a mysterious paragraph without seeing why it appears.

No Fear, No Hype

We do not use fear, urgency, artificial scarcity or mystical theatre to drive engagement. Our content is grounded, calm and respectful of your intelligence.

AI Explains, Algorithms Calculate

Our calculation engine is deterministic and reproducible. AI may assist with controlled wording in reports, but it never calculates your chart, modifies your Day Master, or creates interpretations without evidence.

Boundaries are Clear

Eastern Type is for cultural exploration and self-reflection. We do not offer medical, psychological, legal or financial advice. When a reading has limits, we say so.
